SHOW DESCRIPTION: Climb aboard for bop, cool and hard bop, modern mainstream and progressive with a touch of avant-garde jazz thrown, as host Tammy Shoji takes you on a journey with jazz giants.  "The Jazz of Harlem" is every other Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm on WHCR. 

Listeners enjoy her sophisticated music selection, commentary and interview with jazz musicians including Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Louis Hayes, Jeremy Pelt and Marcus Printup from The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. 

Tammy, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, is a very talented jazz pianist, composer and a band leader of The Harlem Jazztet.  You can see her play at jazz festivals, concerts and clubs in New York
